The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt.1
I give this movie a 7 out of 10, the acting skills and the graphics in the majority of the movie were not great. In this movie Katniss Everdeen (our main character also known as the mockingjay) is a piece of hope in defeating the dreaded President Snow after escaping from the courter quell in "Catching Fire" (the movie before this one) She ends up in the known to be destroyed district 13. Where her mother, sister (Prim), and best friend Gale are located. The theme of the movie is district 13 trying to get Katniss to be "the mockingjay" or a sign of hope for the people of all the districts. One of her conditions for her being the mockingjay is that they go and save the victors that were trapped in the capital by president snow and Annie who was taken by president snow and is Finnicks love.
The reason I gave this movie a 7 out of 10 is because although some of the actors like Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Josh Hutcherson, and Sam Clafin did great in this movie portraying their characters and their characters attitudes. Actors like Jennifer Lawrence and Julianne Moore did not do as great in some points of the movie it seemed like Jennifer Lawrence was trying to hard to seem like she was acting, and in some points Julianne Moore someone that I do like in the majority of the movies she is in didn't do so well in this movie she was very fake and she was acting to high and mighty for the part.

With Josh Hutcherson he was depicted as a traitor for the majority of the movie sadly, because of the fact he was captures by the capital in the movie before this one.
A favorite scene of a couple people that I know that have gone to see this movie have all said their favorite scene is "The Hanging Tree" which is also a scene that I enjoyed. In this scene Katniss and her friends are sitting by a river after a huge devastation has just occurred, in this scene Katniss sings a song called "The Hanging Tree" this causes an uproar and an amazing scene.
Obviously being a two part movie the last scene was the biggest and also a HUGE cliff hanger.

Plagiarism
Jayson Blair & Stephen Glass
Jayson Blair was a Journalist for the New York times. In 2003 the New York Times broke their own story on Jayson Blair and his 600 articles that he plagiarized from other papers. "Blair reported news without actually being there, invented quotes from sources and created events out of thin air." (contentraven.com)
Jayson Blair "committed frequent acts of journalistic fraud". Known as "the low point in the 152 year history of the paper". He not only invented quotes from sources but also, "concocted scenes, and lifted material from other papers and wire services". "He selected detail from photographers to create the impression he had been somewhere or seen someone, when he had not." (nytimes.com)
Stephen Glass worked for The New Republic from 1995-1998. He invented quotations, sources, even entire events in articles that he wrote for The New Republic magazine. In the film Stephen Glass was portrayed as a young man, who was good at acting to get attention and acting to cover his trail. As a person he was fake, weird and a good "story" teller.
In the movie some phrases that he used over and over again were "Are you mad at me?" "It's probably nothing." "It's really stupid, huh?" "Okay, I'll get my notes." "It's in my notes." "I didn't do anything wrong." "He is a real person." "I talked to him thousands of times." etc.
Comparing the two reporters,
stuff they both did,
Invented events out of thin air,
Lifted material from other papers,
stuff Glass did,
had his brother on the other end of phone calls to cover his tracks,
took his boss to the place where "events" were held,
lied to his friends and kept saying it was true even after he got caught,
stuff Blair did,
lifted material from wire services,
selected detail from photographers to create the impression he had been somewhere or met someone.
Don't You D.A.R.E.
In this article by Glass I think he got away with it because, he had info that seemed legit. He also used info that seemed like it could be real. He used little facts and added small details that just added to the seen and made it seem like he was actually there. He used little details to add leverage to his story.
He put people in the story, most who didn't even exist. He made up an entire drug administration program.

Mrs Smith
I would like to talk to you about a teacher I have. I learned a lot about her. First off her name is Lindsey Smith. She is a English teacher at Roosevelt high school. She is married with three kids, her wifes name is Jenny and her kids names are Abrahm & Jude they are twins and then her youngests name is Rowen. She has been married to her wife for 4 and a half years now.
I learned that if she could go back and change anything about her present life she wouldn't she feels blessed with the life that she has. She is happy with her family and her kids have made her a better person because she feels as if she needs to set an example for her kids. shes learned that being married is about being a team player and you have to think about things beyond yourself.
She said "It's great, you know... life is more consistent when you're in a marriage." When she was talking about her kids she was able to truthfully say "It's crazy... shit crazy... ALL the time, it's like the best part of my life but its also just crazy." When i asked her when she decided she wanted kids she said "I've always known that and it just kinda seemed like the right time."
So in the end I learned that Mrs Smith is happy with her life she loves her family, and her work, and she wouldn't change a thing.

The sandy hook elementary school shooting was a tragedy killing 27 people, 20 children and 7 adults including himself. I remember from when this happened a teacher hid all of her students in the closet in her room with no room for her, giving her life to save all of theres when the shooter (Adam Lanza) came in and shot her. The shooting prompted debate on gun control to keep things like this to happen again, including ideas for making the background check system world wide, also banning the sale and manufactory of many types of semi automatic guns with more than ten rounds of ammunition.
Before the event:
Before he went to the school it is believed that Adam Lanza (the shooter) grabbed 3guns and shot his mother (Nancy Lanza). Then he went to the elementary school wearing black fatigues and a military vest (according to police officials). Classes were going on at the school at the time around 700 students were there.
The event:
20 students ages 6 and 7 were killed, 6 teachers were killed, Nancy Lanza was shot by her son Adam Lanza and Adam Lanza committed suicide.
What the media did wrong:
Rumors that Nancy Lanza was a kindergarten teacher or teachers aide at the school (she was not).
It is said that the schools principle recognized him and buzzed him in, but really he shot his way in through the security.
They said that there was a possible second gunman in custody... there was no second gunman

Anderson Cooper: Does your dog really love you?-
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/anderson-cooper-does-your-dog-really-love-you/
I like dogs and Anderson Cooper, I also think that learning about dogs is fun because in my opinion they are cute and loving creatures. I also really find it interesting to learn fun facts that in the future could help me with my dog too. This video showed Anderson cooper talking to different people interviewing people and getting interviewed. It had a man showing pictures of stimulants in dogs brains and explaining what exactly was going on.

In this video the interviewer was smiling and getting into what the people are saying and leaning in listening, talking and adding follow up questions to almost everything he says. Talking about the questions and discussing them.
The recyclers: From trash comes triumph
http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/the-recyclers-from-trash-comes-triumph-2/
Music is definitely one of my biggest passions. I never knew that you could make instruments out of "trash" and make it sound like actual instruments. I thought it was really cool to hear about all the people who are in the music program and the man who was making the instruments out of old cookie trays and such. I found this topic cool and when the interviewer was talking to a student who had gone to an actual music school and then came back to work on her music and used the "trash" instruments. The interviewer asked her what she imagined when she played her instrument, her response was "I imagine I am somewhere else. Somewhere where there is grassy fields and there isn't trash everywhere and the people are happy."

I find this topic very useful because it tells you about what seems to be one of the worlds biggest drug dealers and they caught him. Even though they had to go through a tunnel that they found underneath a bathtub leading to not one but six safe houses. Him, his wife, maid, personal chef, and most trusted body gaurd all disposed of their phones and went to a safe house as they were running the swat team could hear the sound of their feet splashing in the water but they were too far ahead to catch up.
In my video the interviewer wasn't shown often but the had a straight serious face and they were leaning in and listening to what the person was saying. They were leaning in and listening to the people as they talked. Smiling when it was appropriate and keeping a straight face when It was not.

20 questions interview
I interviewed Danielle. She goes by Danny or DP (for Danny phantom)Her favorite color is purple(my moms too!). She is 25 just kidding 14. Her favorite movie is the notebook(heartbreaking but amazing!!!). She does have netflix (netflix is bae). She doesn't like school and she likes any music but screamo (I agree). She told me that she does have a homecoming date(same), she likes food and her favorite food is pizza (yum but steak it better), Danielle likes going to the mall and being on Instagram where she has 519 followers. She told me she prefers Beyoncé over Rihanna, her favorite sport is cheerleading, she is only ever an asshole on the weekends, I asked her whether she prefers Hoodie Allen or kid cudi and she said trick question which is true because they are both great artists, I asked her if she prefers g-eazy or Mac Miller and she said who? Which was just sad because I love both of them probably because I'm into a lot of rap music haha. I asked her how many friends she has and she said she has eight friends her five cats and three people (sounds like me haha). She has one sister her name is Jessica.
